Asylum of the Birds Roger Ballen ロジャーバレンの新作

「鳥たちの保護収容施設」というタイトルのRoger Ballen 新しいシリーズ。といってもいつもの彼の作風と変わらず同じようにモノクロで、南アフリカ、ヨハネスブルグ、室内、ゲットーとその中にある生活用品やゴミで制作されている。その中で違いを見出すとすると、壁が単なる背景ではなく絵などの情報が多く印象が強いこと、また画面が写真らしい奥行きを失い、平面性が強調され、コラージュ作品のような姿をしていることだ。写真集がまもなく発売。
