Google ブックス がようやく何かしら使えるものになる様子。美術館など資料を蒐集する機関の資料をスキャンしたデータの置き場になっていて気になる資料の一部または全部をPDFでダウンロードできたり、閲覧できたり。また iTunes Storeに類する主にアンドロイド端末向け Google Play も2012年に登場し、映画や電子書籍のカタログが拡充。コンテンツの種類は平凡でこれからといったところ。
Google Booksにおける写真関連の資料のいくつかの例を以下に少し羅列してみた。廃刊したもの、また実際買ってまでその本を手元に置いておこうか、迷ったときに参考となる。
