このブログにも頻繁に出てくる写真家の アレックソスとJohn Gossage が共にニュージーランドのオークランドにいって撮影した写真をそれぞれ編集しひとつにした本（ジョンゴッセージが写真集、アレックソスの方はポスター）。写真集の中身がまだわからない段階なのでこの程度の情報ですが、はてJohn Gossageとは誰かなと。

1946年、ニューヨークのスタッテンアイランド(マンハッタンからフェリーで数十分のところ）生まれ。リセットモデル、ブロードウィッチ、ブルースデヴィットソンに写真を学び、Washington, D.C.に移動。2004年のBerlin in the Time of the Wall は20年かけて制作されたプロジェクト。現在メリーランド大学で教鞭にたつ (John Gossage - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaから要約）

１４歳のときにリセットモデルの写真クラスを受講したときに「好きな写真家は？」と彼女に聞いたところ「アジェ、あなたにはわからないでしょうね」と言われてすぐに写真集を買いにいくと彼女の言うとおりなんら理解できるようなものではなかった。のちに毎朝アジェの写真だけでなく、アボットの撮ったアジェのポートレートを見るようになる。＊ このインタビューがわかりやすく面白い。いずれ要約したいと思います。(Art review: John Gossage's 'The Pond' at Smithsonian American Art Museum By Sarah Boxer )
